SPRING CMGA GRANT APPLICATION

CMGA provides financial support to all Master Gardeners and to MG Interns who are involved in projects that promote horticultural knowledge within their communities in Connecticut. CMGA has established a Grants Committee to administer this program. WHO CAN SUBMIT A GRANT APPLICATION? All certified UConn Master Gardeners, Interns, and Extension Coordinators are eligible to apply for a grant. Membership in CMGA is not required to apply for or receive a grant. Applicants can receive only one grant award per year. APPLICATION TIMELINE Grant Spring Cycle: grant application cycle opens: APRIL 15, 2024 deadline to submit application: MAY 15, 2024 Notifications to applicants: by JUNE 15, 2024 A spring grant cycle might be offered based on funding availability and response. GUIDELINES Grant applications will be reviewed and evaluated using a specific rubric that describes the aspects of the project and how they would ‘look’ in action, along a continuum from ‘Unacceptable' to ‘Ideal.’ We encourage you to review the rubric before and as you plan your project to help assure that your explanations in the application are clear, and you design your project for maximum success. Applications for continuing projects will be considered.

GRANT RECIPIENT AGREEMENT & PAYMENT INFORMATION

CMGA would like to share your Outreach Project and photos with our Membership. The Grants Committee will maintain a history of the project names and descriptions, years in which grants were awarded, locations and pictures. As a CMGA Grant recipient, you agree to provide the following documentation to us in a timely manner: PHOTOGRAPHS (1) Send photographs of your project site and activities before the project begins, during project work, and once the project is completed. Maximum of 10 photos, please. (2) Please plan to take and send digital photos. You will be provided with a specific link to use to upload your photos and other project documents once your project has been approved. (3) CMGA assumes that you give us tacit permission to use your accepted proposal as a model for other MGs, and to publish any photographs (including those with people), that you provide to us. It is your responsibility to inform those persons in your photograph that their photo may be used for CMGA publicity purposes. A PROGRESS REPORT. A written progress report from the applicant is required, describing the accomplishments achieved by the project. All progress reports will be submitted after the project is completed, using a specific online form. Once your project is approved, you’ll receive a link to the form. Coordinators do not need to submit a progress report unless they so opt. Samples of printed materials associated with the project (such as fact sheets, newsletters or instruction manuals) are appreciated, but not required.
